Bio

Having been raised in a working class city just south of Detroit's metropolis I have constantly been questioned and criticized about being an artist.  Toledo, Ohio has a strong artistic scene with many amazingly talented people but it's lack of the financially elite allows very little to be seen in the grander scheme of things.  I have made myself recognizable amongst my Toledo peers and although I now live in Columbus, Ohio with a much more noticable arts scene I still hold dear my Toledo base.

In 2005, I graduated from Adrian College with a BFA, my concentration in photography and minor in English.  AC is a small liberal arts college in southeastern Michigan where I did not escape the criticisms I had found in my hometown, however, it's small size and driven faculty members gave me the encouragement I needed to pursue my goals and help me to find that hidden Toledo scene when I left school and moved back home.

At home, I quickly found that I needed to network as much as possible.  I also realized that although I was working in the undesirable field of food service I was surrounding myself with some very valuable assets: fellow artists.  I was invited to attend different functions for the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo and I participated in the very first Artomatic 419!  I expressed my desire to stay involved with ACGT and began volunteering at any and every event possible leading up to my position on two planning committees for Artomatic 419! Lite in September 2007.  The experience was great and drew my biggest sales to date but I left shortly thereafter for Columbus.

I currently live and work in Columbus and am looking to become involved with arts organizations in my  new market.  I have held an affiliation with a Short North gallery since 2006 and recently became a member of The Westbridge Camera Club. My current employment is with a prominent portrait photography studio in sales and production.

If you would like to know anything more about me, have any tips for me or would just like to chat about art in general please contact me via my contact page.
