A quick update

I have posted some images from the Starbucks Exhibit on the new Current Exhibit page.

Also, the email address listed on my card is no longer active.   Mosaicglobe has cancelled its email accounts so you must now submit an inquiry using the Contact Me page to send any messages to me.  Please DO NOT direct any messages to crystal@crystaltursich.mosaicglobe.com, I will not receive them.

I am planning to do a little more renovating to the site in the coming week so please be sure to check back soon.

Ciao!

Sunday Sunday Sunday!!!

On Sunday, November 2nd I will be installing my exhibit at Starbucks in Dublin.  The exhibit will hang until the end of November and is an opportunity provided to me because of my membership in the Westbridge Camera Club.  The club has had an ongoing exhibit at this Starbucks location since January of 2004 and I am pleased to be a part of it.

This exhibit will feature a culimination of past and present works.  The remaining pieces from the Cityscapes series will be on display along with finished pieces from two series' that I am currently creating.  My new series' are offshoots of the Cityscapes series so I thought it might be a nice to put all the pieces together at the beginning of their development.  One series will be a collection of color skyline images from different Ohio cities.  I only have Toledo and Columbus currently but hope to get some shots from Cleveland, Cincinatti, Youngstown, Sandusky and Dayton, as well.  With the second series I hope to illustrate the struggling economy and its effect on American citizens.  I have been collecting images from numerous cities across the states for this particular project and will continue to collect them until I feel the series is complete.

I am very proud of the collection I will be displaying so please stop on out if you can.  Starbucks is located at 6490 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin, Ohio (that's just south of I-270) and is open from 6am to 10pm Monday through Thursday, 6am to 11pm Fridays, 7am to 11pm Saturdays, and 7am to 9pm Sundays.  For any other information regarding the ongoing Starbucks exhibit or Westbridge Camera Club please visit the club's website (I have provided a link to it on my Links page).

For those of you not in the central Ohio area, I hope to add a new gallery to this site that will showcase any works in current exhibitions as well as images of the exhibitions themselves.  This gallery should be up within the week.

I sold one!

One of the two pieces I entered into One Night sold!

I'll post pics of the two entered pieces soon.

Thank you!

In the past month I have noticed that this website has been getting more hits than ever.  I know I have done a lot to try to get people just to look at it but I still would like to say thank you to everyone who has viewed my site.  Also, to anyone who views it in the future don't be afraid to leave me a message, I love hearing back from everyone!

Correction

Just a quick correction about the show at Adrian College:

It will be in the Stubnitz Conference Room of Shipman Library not the Heritage Room and it will start either Tuesday or Wednesday not tomorrow although I am taking the work up there tomorrow.

Starting Monday, August 25th!

This weekend I will be traveling to Adrian, Michigan to put together my Alumni Professor-for-a-Day Exhibition!  The exhibition will hang in the Heritage Room located in Shipman Library on the north side of the Adrian College campus from Monday, August 25th until Sunday, October 5th.  I plan to hang select works from my black and white Cityscapes series as well as a couple of new color pieces that tie into the same theme.  I will also be giving a Noon Talk (a lunch time speech) to AC art and design students about my work on Friday, October 4th.

This is a really great opportunity and I am so honored to have been asked to do this. I can't wait to see my work hung there!

In case you haven't noticed

I posted a new Upcoming Exhibition to my Resume and I am really excited about it.  Here is some information about it.

I was asked by faculty to be the 2008 Homecoming Professor for a Day for the Art Department at Adrian College.  This means I will be having a solo exhibition and giving a Noon Talk (basically a presentation about my work). The exhibition will run from the beginning of the semester to the first weekend of October, which is Homecoming weekend, and the Noon Talk will be on Friday, October 3rd.

This a really great opportunity and I am so honored to have been invited to do this, so if you are in the Adrian, Michigan area at any point from August 25th to October 5th you may want to check out my show.  It will be hung in the Heritage Room of Shipman Library which is located on the Williams St. side of campus.

Testing...

I added some software to the site so that I can track the kind of traffic it is getting and I asked all my Myspace friends to come check out the site.  If you are one of these friends or are just perusing around with nothing to do I ask that you leave a comment on any blog (this one would be fine) and leave me one message via my "Contact Me" page.

Remember this is only for testing but please let me know who you are so that I can give you the proper thanks that you deserve for helping me out.

Thanks everybody!
